Kids’ Cross-Dressing Halloween Costumes

It’s a hot Halloween topic every year. But this year, ABC’s What Would You Do sent a mom to the costume store with a couple of kids (all actors). Each kid insisted on a costume that was utterly non-traditional for their gender, and random shoppers’ responses were taped.

• Ask listeners: “What Halloween costume did your kid choose that made you cringe?”

• Does it really matter what kids choose for a costume? Isn’t the point of Halloween that you get to dress up as something you’re not?

• Does the age matter? For example, if your three-year-old son chooses a Disney Princess costume, it’s no big deal… but when your eight-year-old son wants to dress up like Hannah Montana, it’s a problem.
