Should I let my ex-husband come over Christmas morning to open presents with the kids?

I’m really torn on what to do. This is the first Christmas that I’m not married and my kids who are 7 and 10 have been asking if their Dad can come over Christmas morning to open presents with us, like we have done every year before. I want to make my kids happy but I’m worried I would be sending mixed messages if their dad, my ex-husband were to be with us Christmas morning. I don’t want to give them false hope; plus, I feel like we need to start the healing process and move on. I’m not keeping him from the kids that day I just think it’s time to start new traditions when it comes to Christmas morning. Am I wrong? Should I let him come over or should I keep him away?

Should she let her ex-husband come over Christmas morning or would that send mixed messages to the kids?
